Exploring Communication

What will I do?

Based in a specially created environment, you will explore communication using multi-sensory equipment and specialist accessories. You will experience therapeutic activities including art, music and reflexology. There will also be opportunities to enjoy the outside grounds at St Joseph's.

Who is it for?

This session is specifically for people whose main form of communication is through their eyes with limited body language. It is particularly suited to those diagnosed with Rett syndrome. Both the student and support workers will benefit from this activity.

What will I get out of it?

Improve self-expression with family and those outside your usual circle. It will help you to inform others how to understand your wants, needs and moods. In time it will help create a communication tool unique to your personality. You will have lots of fun and many surprises along the way.
